When Shopping, Bring the Child Along

Shopping with the child in question can have its advantages. In another tip we suggested leaving the child at home when you head off school-shopping. In this one, we’re jumping the fence and suggesting that you bring the child along to help pick out items. An item that just sits in the closet unworn is a waste of money, and if your child has a hand picking shirts, etc. out, he or she will be much more inclined to wear it.

So which tip is better? That will vary depending on your circumstances. Leaving the child at home will work a lot better if you sit down with him or her and discuss likes, colors, etc. before-hand. If you have an iron will and can resist being strayed too much off budget, then bringing the child along may work better.
