Pay a Visit to Your State’s Capitol

Dive into local history.Take a drive to visit your state capitol. While what you find there will vary state to state, generally you’ll be treated to exhibits that lay out the history of the state, guided tours and information, museums and more, all of which is usually subsidized by the taxpayers (i.e. you’ve already paid for it, so it’s free). This can be not a fun but also an informative trip for your kids (don’t mention the informative part).
