Pay Attention to Energy Guide Labels on Appliances

It is now easier than ever to shop for efficient appliances.

When the time comes to replace old appliances with new (as painful as it is), make certain that you shop around to find the most energy efficient ones you can find (especially true of things like air conditioners, furnaces, etc.). In addition to comparing price, look for the Energy Guide Labels on products (required by law) and compare for future energy costs as well. Focusing on buying the most efficient appliances you can will save you potentially hundreds of dollars a year in electric costs.
