Recipe – Wheat/Oat Dog Biscuits

A healthy treat for your canine friend.

1 cup uncooked oatmeal
1/3 cup margarine
1 teaspoon. bouillon granules
1 1/2 cup hot water
3/4 cup powdered milk
1 beaten egg
3/4 cup cornmeal
3 cup wheat flour
Combine oatmeal, margarine, hot water and bullion in large bowl and let set for 5 minutes. Stir in the powdered milk, egg and cornmeal, then gradually add the flour, a little at a time, until you have a stiff dough. Turn out onto lightly floured surface and roll out to 1/2″ thick. Cut into whatever cookie shapes you desire, place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes. Allow to cool and dry out (if sufficiently dried, you shouldn’t need to store these in the refrigerator so long as you use them within a week or two).
