The Best Way To Store Your Garden Tools

Keep rust from your tools with this tip.Garden tools can best be stored by keeping the “tool” end in a bucket filled with sand and used oil (cooking, motor, etc.). The sand will help to clean the tools, and the oil will coat them so they will not rust.

Hmm, this seems aweful messy, but I’ll give it a try this summer. Right now I just make sure that I always hose off shovels or anything else I’m using in the garden and then put it away. I can definitely see the sense of the sand and oil, but I’m just not sure that the potential mess makes it worth it(not to mention the fact that it will be taking up precious shed space, which I don’t have).
