Toss the Garbage Disposal
There’s a much better alternative.Get rid of your garbage disposal. Not only does it use power needlessly, but you should be using your vegetable food scraps as compost for your garden. Plus, if you have a septic system, constantly running food scraps into it, even through a disposal, isn’t a good idea.
