		<description>I made this with lentils instead of the split peas and it came out great! I did cut the water down to 1 1/2 quarts (6 cups), but everything else was dead on to the above recipe for the split pea version. It was sort of close in terms of taste and texture to cooking split pea soup, only with more of an Indian cuisine type of feeling (it could have just been my curry powder, but I think next time I will add a little more just to get more curry taste, or maybe add cardamom or some other curry-ish herb or spice).

I'm going to add a little spinach next time!</description>
