Milk Jug Greenhouses

Use milk jugs in the garden to protect small seedlings.

If you have young children like I do, you probably go through a lot of milk and produce a lot of empty milk jugs. Give the recycling bin a bit of a break by using these containers in the garden as little greenhouses.

To make your own greenhouse, just cut off the milk jug bottom and remove the cap from the top. This will allow you to place the jug over a young seedling, protecting it from the elements and any garden-munching critters. Removing the cap insures that your home-made greenhouse will get enough ventilation through it.
