Nylons in the Garden
Put old nylons to good use in the garden…
Nylons are quickly becoming one of our favorite recycling item. Do a search on this site for “nylons” and you’ll find a few uses in the kitchen and bathroom. Well now we drag an old pair to the garden. Cut old nylons into 6-inch lengths and use them to tie up tomatoes and other plants that need a little staking help as the season goes along. The nylon is study enough to hold the plants to their stakes, but has enough “give” that they will not choke off the plant as it grows, but will stretch with it. You can also use this tip with fruit or vegetable vine plants that are trained to grow on a fence or trellis.
