Shop the Outer Perimeter of the Grocery Store

Try this next time you’re grocery shopping and you’ll approach the experience a whole new way.

Next time you hit the grocery store, take a couple of minutes to walk around the outer perimeter of the store (ie. the far outer aisles). Take a cart with you if you don’t want to look too odd. The outer perimeter of the store will contain those food items that are generally more healthy for you, such as vegetables, dairy items and meats. If you try to do the majority of your shopping in the outer aisles, you’ll avoid a lot of the processed foods in the inner aisles that tend to be less nutritious and more costly.
