The Best Way to Freeze Fresh Berries

Pick your own and save them for a snowy day with this berry excellent preservation method.

Puns aside, you’ll save a ton of money picking your own blueberries and strawberries when they are in season and then freezing them for future use. To freeze them properly, first wash and dry the berries, then arrange then in single layers on cookie sheets, or whatever other pans will fit into the freezer. Once the berries are frozen, simply bag them up and keep them in the freezer until the need for a blueberry pancake or strawberry shortcake strikes! No need to thaw them before using, just add them to whatever dessert of dish you’re creating.

This freezing method will assure that the berries will not come out of the freezer all clumped up.
