Advertise Your Yard Sale: Newspapers

Get the word out and they will come.

The newspaper is the logical choice for advertising your yard sale, and most local papers will have special sections (and perhaps special pricing) set up in their advertising sections to promote yard sales. Most people who are into yard sales realize this and keep track of such listings on a week-by-week basis. If you’re having a multi-family sale, you can all chip in and reduce the cost of the ad to you. In this and other advertising efforts, make sure you list the days, times, location, and perhaps specific items you’ll be offering if you think it will help pull in shoppers.
