Advertise Your Yard Sale: Online

Use the Internet to draw shoppers to your Website.

We were a little skeptical when we first heard that people were advertising their yard sale online, but it appears to be more widespread than we knew, and best of all, it’s free! Sites such as Yard Sale Search (http://www.yardsalesearch.com/) and YardHopper (http://www.yardhopper.com/) let you post your own sale or find other sales in your area. This is probably a more valuable tool if you are running or attending sales in higher-populated areas, but it’s certainly worth the couple of minutes it takes to post an ad or search for sales.

Note: many other yard sale listing sites exist in addition to these two. Just point your Web browser at your favorite search engine and type in “find yard sales”.

Our town (saugus, ma) has a community page where you can list your yard sale. I’m not sure that anyone uses it, though, but that’s another possible source for sales in other communities.
