Make Your Own Play Dough
Why pay for the real stuff when you can easily make your own “Faux Dough” for pennies?
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
2 tablespoons oil
2 cups water
food coloring
Combine all ingredients in a pan (except for the food coloring) and cook over medium heat about 5-6 minutes, or until the mixture starts to gather on the spoon and forms into a ball. Spoon out onto wax paper and cool. When cool, knead the dough until pliable, then separate into equal sized balls and add food coloring to each, kneading the color into the dough until the color is consistent. Play dough should be stored in a covered container or plastic bag. Makes about 2 pounds of fun.
