Troll Yard Sales for Familiar Appliances

Take stock of what you own, and keep an eye open at your next yard sale spree.

Many of the parts used in electronics components such as stereo systems are very similar, and if you find a cheap model at a yard sale that is nearly identical to yours, you should consider picking it up to use for spare parts. These parts could include springs, rubber belts, control knobs and even small speakers. Something as simple as a broken spring could put your CD player out of commission, but if you have a replacement part, you’ll save yourself the cost of a repair or an expensive replacement.

This so true, and it is hard to find replacement parts, without paying for a lot these days.
The stereos with the all in ones were the best, and are coming back into style for us older ones. I got this one, where I have been looking on the internet for a needle replacement.
You can find them at thrift stores, with one component not working, usually the stereo, or the CD player part.
Some of the older products were made more durable, than the last number of years, so people are looking for those too. Like the slow cooker, where you could take the inside out to wash it, then put it back in place. Then you didn’t have to wash it, with the electric parts and all.
