Try the following to easily remove most splinters.Instead of digging out the needle to dig out the splinter (a visual which will now stay with us all day), try reaching for your handy dispenser of Scotch tape instead. Simply remove a section of the tape, place it over the splinter, then pull. In many cases, the splinter will come right out, saving you a little pain and a great deal of anxiety (assuming your patient was young or needle-adverse).
