Save Your Brake Rotors

Getting your disc brakes done before they completely wear out can be a real saver. When disc brake pads wear all the way down, a safety tab on them will start making a grinding noise. This noise is the safety tab wearing a groove into your rotors. If your rotors have to be turned to make them smooth again, this can add significantly to the cost of a brake job (and you’ll pay even more if the rotors have been previously turned a couple of times and need to be completely replaced). Whenever you have your car into the shop to have it serviced, have the mechanic check the disc brake pads to determine how much wear is left in them.
