Create a Pleasant Shopping Environment

Steps to making your buyers feel comfortable at your sale.

First, don’t hover! You certainly want to keep an eye on things, but give people the space they need to browse through your items at their leisure. Everything you are selling has a story attached to it, but unless the buyer asks, he or she probably doesn’t really care what it is, so don’t offer. You can also make for a shopping environment that will encourage people to linger by playing soft music in the background. This will also let people chat about items among themselves without feeling like you’re eavesdropping (and preparing to queue up the next story).
