Don’t Dicker Too Early on Sales

Some buyers will want to dicker, but don’t be too eager to meet their price.

It’s a particularly bad idea to start letting items go for less than you asked early in the yard sale. You never know who might come along in the afternoon and be willing to pay your full price. One good strategy to deal with “early dickers,” if we may be so bold as to label them thusly, is to politely decline but tell them that you might be interested in selling the item for that price later in the day (or the next day, if you’re running a sale over two days) and inviting them to stop back then.
