1 March, 2007 Crockpot Chicken

A great combination of flavors make this a meal all in one, although serving it up with a little garlic bread is also very much allowed.

  • 1 fryer, cut up, rinsed, dried
  • Salt & peppered
  • 3 carrots, diced
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 c. frozen cut green beans
  • 6-8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 small bay leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. tarragon
  • 1/2 tsp. summer savory
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. coarsely ground pepper
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/3 c. regular rice (uncooked)
  • 1/2 c. water

Combine all ingredients in the crockpot except for the rice and water and cook on low for about 4 hours. Add the last two ingredients and cook an additional 2-3 hours, so you end up with 6-7 hours total cooking time.
